In the early days of in ground pools Ortega Valves were considered top of the line. They replaced the gate valves that were cumbersome to use. The Ortega Valves were made of brass since most pipes were copper. As pool builders changed to pvc pipes Ortega changed to Noryl valves. You can still get parts for the brass valve. These parts include the diverter which is the main part inside the valve. Then you have the Ortega Seal Diverter Permalok which comes in 2 sizes. This sizes are 1 and a half inch, and 2 inches, this includes the diverter and seal. Then you have the shaft, it is small and still made of brass and fits both size valves. You can still get the cover or cap and it is made of plastic and comes in 2 sizes. The last main part is the handle which is made of a type of plastic. There are also o-rings and screws that can still be had. But when looking for Ortega Valve Parts it is best to look at a diagram so you can see exactly what you are buying.
